As we age, our skin becomes more sensitive and delicate, making it difficult to find the right razor. For elderly men, electric razors have become a popular solution. They offer a gentle, pain-free shave that is easy on the skin and reduces the risk of cuts and irritation. But with so many options available, it can be difficult to know which one is best for you.
Here are the benefits of using an electric razor for elderly men:
Comfort: Electric razors are designed to be gentle on the skin, making them a great option for those with sensitive skin. They move smoothly over the skin, reducing the risk of irritation and cuts.
Convenience: Electric razors are easy to use and require no water or shaving cream. This makes them ideal for those who may have difficulty reaching or bending to shave.
Speed: Electric razors are quick and efficient, allowing you to shave in just a few minutes. This is especially important for elderly men who may have limited mobility and time.
When choosing the best electric razor for an elderly man, there are a few things to consider:
There are two main types of electric razors: foil and rotary.
Foil razors have a flat surface and are ideal for those with sensitive skin, while rotary razors have circular blades that move in a circular motion, making them ideal for those with thick beards.
Wet or Dry Shaving
Some electric razors are designed for wet shaving, while others are meant for dry shaving. Consider which option is best for your skin and lifestyle.
Features: Look for features such as adjustable blades, washable heads, and a long battery life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely AmazingReviewed in the United States on November 27, 2022

I’ve spent years shaving with a rotary electric razor and suffered from razor burn and irritation nearly every time I shaved. I don’t shave every day so I would often have to trim my beard back with a trimmer before shaving or I would be in tears from all the hairs getting pulled. I had been wanting to try a foil shaver for a while and after doing some research decided to dive in and ordered the 9477c. The day it arrived I had about 5 days of growth and seeing that they tout being able to handle up to a 7-day beard I gave it a go. Normally I would shave right after getting out of the shower, applying a little Lectric Shave, but wanted to try dry first. I was immediately in love with this razor! It cut right through, never pulled once, and left my face smoother than I’ve felt it in decades with no irritation whatsoever. I followed up with my typical routine, cold rinse and post shave balm, and my skin felt amazing. It was almost invigorating! The cleaning station is also great, though I’ve found that I have to rinse the head out under hot water before using the cleaning station to really get it flushed out. There are really only two downsides I can think of to list, first is that it is fairly loud compared to my old Norelco, but that’s not really an issue in my house. Second is that I do have to run it over my neck more than the Norelco to get some stubborn hairs that like to lay flat, but foil just shaves differently and I’m learning how to get them. However, it’s worth noting again that even though I have to spend more time on my neck I’m not getting any irritation. Overall, I’m could not be happier with my purchase, absolutely worth every penny.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best shaver I’ve ever owned, and there’s no close secondReviewed in the United States on January 2, 2023

At first, I balked at the price. What kind of idiot spends $350 on a shaver? And then I figured, screw it: I’m getting old.
I’m so glad I did. I’d been using Norelco (now Philips) triple-headers for as long as I can remember. But the latest had reached the point that it would painfully snag whiskers, especially if I had a 2-day growth or more. This Braun isn’t a faster shave than I had before, but it’s *much* closer and, more importantly, always comfortable, even with 2 or 3 days of stubble.
The portable charger travel case claims that you can go 6 weeks. I wouldn’t know, because I just got back from a 2-week vacation where the shaver itself barely got below half a charge. I never even pressed the charge button in the travel case, so I suspect that 6 weeks would be easy.
It also comes with an automatic self-cleaner that’s a real hoot and seems to work well. I bought a bottle of Oster blade oil here on Amazon for it, which purchase was endorsed by my hairdresser daughter.
Expensive? Yup. Worth it? Hell, yeah.

5.0 out of 5 stars Close shave, reasonable battery, worth the moneyReviewed in the United States on January 29, 2023
I bought this shaver 10 days ago and so far, it has been a great shaver. I only fully charged it once and I have used it 5 or 6 times since then without need to charge it again. A close shave with a reasonable cost. Do not hesitate to buy it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very lightweight and easy to use.Reviewed in the United States on January 18, 2023
My dad has always used a regular razor and swore that electric razors don’t give a clean shave but has a hard time standing over the sink and using the mirror to shave. This razor is easier for him to use, and he is happy with how close it shaves.
5.0 out of 5 stars Clean shave at a reasonable price.Reviewed in the United States on January 12, 2023
I’ve used Philips/Norelco electric shavers for decades. I’m 71 now. I’ve never had one quit on me. Generally, the shaver will out last the availability of replacement blades. That was my experience with the last 2 shavers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shaver but the noise…Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2022
I love this shaver! It cuts so close and very smooth too…the only issue I have with it: Make sure you close all the doors around you and windows when you start this bad boy up, it will not only wake up your loved ones and disturb the peace with its VERY loud noise but will wake up the neighbors! Be prepared. But it’s the BEST I’ve ever used 😀
5.0 out of 5 stars Look no furtherReviewed in the United States on August 21, 2022
I’ve tried multiple electric shavers and this one is by far the best value and closest shave. It beats out the $300 Braun shaver in terms of closeness.
It does not come with any fancy case or cleaning container, but it really does the job. The Braun and others have another issue where shave bits come out whereas this one keeps the particles inside.
Get this and you won’t regret it. Price, value and results are top notch.
